2021 AAAS Pacific Division Annual Meeting to be held June 17 - 20

Our Annual Meetings:  A principle focus of the Pacific Division for more than 100 years has been the organization of an annual meeting of symposia, workshops, town hall meetings, individual contributed talks, plenary speakers, social events and field trips.  As an example, click  here to see the complete program for our 2019 annual meeting, or you can look  at specific 2019 meeting content related to the themes of Interdisciplinary science, science policy, as well as events considering how to engage the public in science including those specifically organized around issues of local concern.

Our 101st Annual Meeting:  The next annual meeting of the AAASPD will be held  June 17th - 21st, 2021.  The meeting is being organized in hybrid form, with integrated on-line and, Covid-19 circumstances permitting, in-person components.  The in-person components are planed to take place at Boise State University, in Boise Idaho.  The meeting will include our traditional wide-range of science and science related presentations and events but will also reflect  science and science related issues, concerns and activities of Boise, Idaho, the Pacific Northwest.

As general information: Membership in AAAS itself is not required to participate in any annual meeting or to submit presentation proposals.  Proposals and participation are also not limited to individuals from any region or location, as our meetings typically include participants from throughout North America as well as the rest of the world.  We do, however, especially encourage participation from students located on the West Coast of North America and in particular those at institutions near the meeting site itself.

Meeting costs:  As circumstances are changing, we are still working out the cost of meeting participation.  However, in general AAASPD meetings are low cost for high value, especially for students.
