Each year the AAASPD organizes field trips in and around the meeting site. These field trips take place before the opening reception, on the morning and afternoon of the first day of the meeting (June 14), on the Saturday afternoon after the meeting ends (June 19). They may include destinations ranging from a local violin shop and the Oregon Shakespeare Festival behind-the-stage-curtain to geological forays in our local mountains

Fields trips tentatively planned for 2022 include:

A geology field trip into the Klamath Mountains, organized and led by Dr. JAD D'ALLURA, AAASPD Section Chair for Geological Sciences and Professor of Geology (Emeritus) Southern Oregon University.  (Scheduled)

A visit to Troon Vineyard, the first Demeter Biodynamic Certified and Regenerative Organic Certified vineyard in Southern Oregon's beautiful Applegate Valley.  (in development)

A back stage tour of Ashland's famous Oregon Shakespeare Festival (in development)

A survey of effects of climate change in the Rogue Valley (in development)

A trip to the soon to be freed Klamath River (in development)

Additional information on these and other field trips will be posted as they become available.
